FirstCry, the baby and maternity products e-commerce platform, is in talks with investors for a new round of funding that could see the company raise as much as $75 million. FirstCry stocks maternity wear, nursery accessories, diapers, clothes for kids till the age of nine, toys, school gear, prams, strollers and car seats, among other products. It claims to have more than 200,000 baby and kids products from 2,000-plus international and Indian brands.
Sorting Hat Technologies Pvt Ltd, which runs educational-technology platform Unacademy, has raised $1 million from a clutch of investors including Flipkart co-founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal and Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma. The funding will be utilized to develop apps and products and hire employees.

Mumbai-based deal discovery startup NearU has raised an undisclosed amount in funding from Goutam Challagalla, a professor of marketing at business school IMD, Switzerland. Founded in June 2015 by Rao, NearU is a location-based mobile app for deal discovery. The startup follows an online-to-offline model connecting users to outlets.
