White Unicorn Ventures, a Mumbai-based seed-stage investor, has closed its $20-million maiden fund and is looking to deploy a part of the capital in European start-ups. White Unicorn began operations in May 2016 and has already invested a little less than $5 million across 16 start-ups from the fund. Its investments typically fall in the range of INR 50 lakh to INR 3 crore.



Ganesh Natarajan, former chief executive officer of Zensar Technologiesand chairman of Nasscom Foundation, and Cyrus Guzder, former promoter of AFL which was acquired by FedEx, have invested in digital content platform Live History India. Natarajan made the investment through his 5F World startup platform. The LHI platform will showcase historical facts through videos and content contributed by historians across the country and by the startup’s 20-member team.



Women’s sanitary pad maker startup Elize, that started its operations in January this year, raised an undisclosed amount of seed investment from leading angel investors like Sunil Kalra, Arun Venkatachalam from Murugappa Group, Startup Buddy Ventures and senior members from Arthur D Little Adnan Merhaba, Viditha Kanakamedala and Rohit Sethi. The funding will be utilized to strengthen product line, create a strong brand presence and grow active customer base.
