Unilazer Ventures founder Ronnie Screwvala has pumped in an additional Rs 24 crore in online eyewear solutions company Lenskart Solutions. The latest secondary transaction in Lenskart brings Unilazer’s cumulative investment in the six-year-old company to about INR 100 crore, and was closed at a valuation close to INR 2,000 crore, the same pricing it received when PremjiInvest invested in the company last year.
Gujarat government has come up with India’s first student startup and innovation policy, which aims to provide INR 200 crore in the form of grants to ideas developed by them. The policy aims to support over 1,000 innovation per year and create pre-incubation support in all universities of the state.
Venture debt firm InnoVen Capital closed deals worth INR 110 crore at the end of third quarter of the current fiscal. The Temasek-backed specialty finance firm has backed 13 startups for the October to December quarter, a list that includes food ordering and delivery service Swiggy, online insurance provider Coverfox, online furniture rental venture Furlenco and apparel rental firm Flyrobe.
