Online travel search marketplace ixigo is raising $10 million in fresh equity funding from Sequoia Capital India. Unlike OTA’s which provide their own deals on flights and hotels, ixigo works as a price comparison engine aggregating deals from over 25,000 online and offline travel providers.
Chai Thela, a hybrid format of street food outlets and organised sector’s quick-service restaurant, has raised funding from micro-venture capital firm Quarizon in its pre-Series-A round. The startup focuses on providing hygienic tea and snacks by targetting the office and commercial area hubs and the major part of customers are office executives, corporate employees, shopkeepers and traders.
Wholesalebox, a Jaipur-based B2B wholesale e-commerce firm, has raised $2 million (INR 13 crore) in a pre-Series A round from a group of angel and institutional investors. Manish Maheshwari, CEO of Network 18 Digital and Contrarian Vriddhi Fund are among the investors that participated in this round. The funding will be utlized to scale technology and roll out operations in new market.
Bengaluru-based ethnic wear marketplace Indofash Ethnic Pvt Ltd has raised INR 1 crore ($146,000) in funding from two angel investors – Shekhar Sahu and Nitesh Pant, co-founders of telemedicine company HealthcareMagic.Indofash is an online platform for ethnic women’s wear, kids’ wear, home décor and jewellery. The company claims it gets 15,000 to 18,000 unique visitors every day and 80,000 page views on the website.
