Bengaluru-based Neonatal Care & Research Institute (NCRI), which runs Ovum hospitals for pediatric and neonatal care, has raised INR 33 crore from IL&FS Investment Managers Limited and Norwest Venture Partners. The company is the latest among mother-and-childcare hospital chains to get funding from venture capital and private equity investors in recent months.


A group of high profile investors including former Standard Chartered ace banker Jaspal Bindra and Parth Jindal, son of JSW Group chairman Sajjan Jindal, have invested in HEAL Institute, a sports-focused healthcare startup. The funding will be utilized for expansion across major metros.


Gurgaon based SeeDoc, which offers patients video consultation with doctors, has raised around $1 million (around Rs 6.7 crore) in its pre-Series A round of funding led by early stage venture fund YourNest . The app claims to have more than six lakh users and processes roughly 500 video consultations daily.


Online healthcare start-up 1mg Technologies Pvt. Ltd has acquired diagnostic labs aggregator Medd (HolaMed Healthcare Technologies Pvt. Ltd) in a move aimed at boosting its diagnostic footprint. It has also roped in Ankur Gigras, a former marketing head for gastroenterology at healthcare firm Abbott India Ltd, to oversee the diagnostics business.


Healthcare startup Curefit Healthcare Pvt Ltd, the joint venture of former Flipkart executives Ankit Nagori and Mukesh Bansal, has raised $15 million (around Rs 100.8 crore) in a Series A round of funding from Accel Partners, IDG Ventures and Kalaari Capital. The funding will be utilized for product development and enhancing the technology backbone of the venture.
