Artificial intelligence-powered personal shopping assistant start-up Mezi has raised $9 million in a Series A funding round from existing investor Nexus Venture Partners and new investors Saama Capital and American Express Ventures. The funding will be utilized to support the company’s growth and accelerate Mezi’s product and artificial intelligence technology development around conversational commerce, natural language processing and machine learning.

Hyderabad-based mobile learning management platform Byndr has raised USD 700,000 (Rs 4.70 crore) in seed funding from Education Design Studio (accelerator at the University of Pennsylvania), Ben Franklin Technology Partners and a group of angel investors. The funding will be utilized to expand sales and development team.

My Home group, Telangana’s largest business house, is preparing to set up a Rs 500 crore equity fund to invest in startups. The Hyderabad-headquartered group has interests in real estate, cement and power businesses. The dedicated research and investment team will take up due diligence of startups as well as scaled-up businesses.
