Delhi-based educational-technology firm Transweb Educational Services Pvt. Ltd has raised its Series A round of funding from 500 Startups, a Silicon Valley-based startup accelerator and early-stage VC fund house. Transweb, which provides online tutorial services, has raised over Rs 80 lakh ($120,000) from the US-based firm on a fully diluted basis through a preferential allotment.
Bangalore- and Singapore-based BankerBay Technologies Pte Ltd, which helps private equity and venture capital firms, hedge funds, banks and investment banks locate deal flow and capital, has raised $2 million in funding from a group of unnamed investors. The funding will be utilized for global expansion and building sales, marketing and business development teams in London and New York
Online travel marketplace TripShelf has raised pre-Series A round of funding worth $250,000 from Delhi-based GEMS Group, an early-stage sector agnostic fund. The funding will be utilized to establish traction with the customer and travel operator community.
Gurgaon-based furniture rental startup, CityFurnish has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Brand Capital, the investment arm of conglomerate, Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd. (Times Group). Existing investor Manoj Gupta, Director, Credit Suisse also participated in this round. The startup currently operates in Gurgaon, Delhi and Bangalore, and plans to launch its services in Pune this month. It also seeks to increase its footprint in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai.
Auto-rickshaw aggregator Jugnoo has partnered with Trainman, an online platform assisting Indian Railway travellers, to enable passengers to book three-wheelers to and from their respective railway stations.The service will be available to users of Trainman mobile app in 35 cities where Jugnoo is currently operational.
