Inter-city cab rental platform MyTaxiIndia raises $1 Million from Japanese investor

Inter-city cab rental platform MyTaxiIndia Pvt. Ltd has raised $1 million (around Rs 6.65 crore) in a bridge round of funding from existing investor Nihon Kotsu Co, a leading taxi rental company in Japan. The funding will be utilized for expanding services to tier 2 and 3 cities along with technology development, marketing and branding.

Drums Food raises $ 6.6 Million from Verlinvest, DSG Consumer

Verlinvest, the Belgium-based investment holding company created by the founding families of Anheuser-Busch InBev, and DSG Consumer Partners, have led a Rs 44.5 crore round of funding in yogurt and ice cream maker Drums Food International. Mumbai-based Drums Food manufactures the Epigamia brand of Greek yogurt and the Hokey Pokey brand of premium ice cream. The funding will be utilized for acquiring talent, investing in supply chain and increasing production capacity.

Dog food company Dogsee Chew raises INR 2 Crore in an angel funding

Bengaluru-based dog food company ‘Dogsee Chew’ has raised Rs 2 crore in an angel round from Renu Balyan, a Delhi-based angel investor, and Jyotsna Bapat, an Associate Professor at IIIT Bangalore. The funding will be utilized to expand product portfolio and launch human grade dog biscuits. The company also plans to foray into global markets, including the APAC region and Europe.

SEAF invests in Synergy Kitchens and Hospitality, completes fund deployment
SEAF India Investment Advisors (SIIA) has invested between $2 million and $5 million in Kolkata-based Synergy Kitchens & Hospitality, which operates food and facility brand Rozzana. Rozzana operates on-site and offsite central kitchens for the healthcare industry, including Narayana Hrudayalaya and Fortis Hospitals, and other corporations such as Tata Consultancy Services, India’s largest software firm, and Jindal Steel and Power. It also operates bakeries for its clients.

Fintech startup iServe raises seed funding

Pune-based iServe Financial Pvt. Ltd, which runs an online and offline customised financial services and solutions business, has raised an undisclosed amount in seed investment from a group of investors, including Nilesh Shah (CEO of Kotak Mutual Fund). The funding will be utilized to improve the online platform’s reach and penetration to take on bigger rivals such as BankBazaar and PaisaBazaar.
