Leh Leh Sports has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Sunny Narang, chairman of Anglian Omega Network, in a personal capacity. This is a strategic investment for them as they are trying to grow their venue collaborations model. In this model, there is a gestation period for getting a venue fully up to speed and the funding will help them finance cash flows in that period.
Gaia Smart Cities, a venture by former Reliance Jio president and chief information officer Sumit Chowdhury, has raised $300,000 from angel investors Devang Mehta and Sandeep Shetty. The funding will be utlized for product development targeted at smart city initiatives, and demonstrations and pilots for various clients.
Bangalore-based Axilor Ventures on Wednesday said it plans to invest in 12-15 start-ups in the current financial year. Axilor offers three platforms—early stage venture capital funding, scale up and accelerator programme.
Ratan Tata in partnership with the University of California, is setting up a venture capital fund with a corpus of around $100-150 million. They are looking at investments in the ticket size of around $10-15 million. However, initially they are also looking at writing smaller cheques of around $5 million.
Infosys Ltd has invested $4 million in Israel-based cloud monitoring solutions startup Cloudyn Software Ltd. The transaction will be completed this month, Infosys said in a stock-exchange filing on Wednesday. The company will get an undisclosed minority stake in Cloudyn. The startup which was founded in 2011, enables enterprises to monitor and optimise hybrid cloud deployment by providing insights derived from operational and financial metrics.
