Delhi-based B2C vernacular podcast aggregator platform Funcastic has raised seed funding from a startup accelerator launched by HT Media Ltd and US-based investment firm North Base Media. The funding will be utilized for technology development and product marketing.

Niramaya PathLabs acquires Gurgaon-based startup Labstreet in a cash and stock deal

Gurgaon-based Labstreet, which helps consumers with pathology tests, has been acquired by Niramaya PathLabs in a cash and stock deal. Post-acquisition, the founders will not be joining Niramaya but will continue in advisory roles and remain stakeholders in the company. Labstreet will continue to operate under the same brand name, but the possibility of a merger in the near future cannot be ruled out.

Camera and photo sharing app Vebbler raises INR 3.34 Crore funding

Anupam Mittal has led a consortium of 16 investors to invest $500,000 in Bengaluru-based camera and photo sharing app Vebbler. The app allows people to instantly share photos with each other in real time. The funding will be utilized for hiring and marketing campaigns.

IIM Ahmedabad’s CIIE invests in two healthtech startups

IIM Ahmedabad’s Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) has invested undisclosed amounts in two health tech start-up – Doux Dentistry and Zeolr. Doux Dentistry, is a dental care start-up aiming to make dental care affordable & accessible for patients at their homes under the brand name Mobident. While Zeolr, is an IoT based healthcare startup that is developing solutions to aid in better management of chronic diseases by patients and availability of information to physicians for regular supervision, revision and reinforcement.

Men’s grooming startup Bombay Shaving Company raises INR 4 Crore funding

Men’s grooming startup Bombay Shaving Company has raised Rs 4 crore ($600,000) in seed funding from a clutch of angel investors including McKinsey India MD Noshir Kaka, and Subramanian Ramadorai, an advisor to the Prime Minister. The 10-month-old internet first company is already averaging 400 orders a month, and plans to scale to about 30,000 orders a month in the next six months.
