Online fashion marketplace Fynd, run by Shopsense Retail Technologies Pvt Ltd, has raised $500,000 from seed investment platform Venture Catalysts in its Series A round of investment. The funding will be utilized to enhance its consumer offerings and strengthen its brand strategy.
Cross Border Angels , the investment network started by US-based Scaale Group three years ago, has committed to invest at least $500,000 in eight Indian startups. The startups include Mumbai-based Shirsa Labs Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad-based EdgeFx Technologies Pvt Ltd, Jaipur’s eShiksa and Pune-based 14Square.
New Delhi-based India Sports Flashes Pvt Ltd, which operates sports content app Sports Flashes, has raised an undisclosed amount in angel funding from Vikas Bajaj, joint managing director, Bajaj Motors Ltd, and Amit Kharbanda, founder, MyBox Technologies Pvt Ltd. The app is currently available to users in five languages.
Healthcare startup Oxa Medical, which provides curated medical tourism packages, has secured an undisclosed amount in seed funding from UAE-based Idein Ventures Pvt Ltd. It will use the money to build its technology stack and expand its operations.
Education sector-focused private equity (PE) firm Kaizen Management Advisors Pvt. Ltd said it has marked the first close of its second fund—Kaizen Private Equity II—at Rs285 core (about $42 million) with five investors that included institutions and strategic education companies. Some of Kaizen’s portfolio companies include Neev Knowledge Management Pvt. Ltd, which offers online and classroom-based certification courses under the brand EduPristine, a video-based educational services start-up Impartus Innovations, K-12 Techno Services, Varthana, Ace Creating Learning and WizIQ, among others.
