Ed-tech start-up Makkajai Edu Tech Pvt Ltd has raised $250,000 from Ananth Narayanan, chief executive of Myntra; Anand Chandrasekaran, former chief product officer of Snapdeal; Mekin Maheshwari, former chief people officer of Flipkart; Ravi Garikipati, head of engineering Flipkart; among others.  The funding will be utilized for team expansion.

Bengaluru-based skills validation platform FloCareer has raised $150,000 in seed funding from a clutch of angel investors including Balasubramanian Krishnamurthy, former VP-Engineering of SAP and US-based technology evangelist Sidhartha Hazarika. The funding will be utilized to strengthen its platform, while also marketing itself to job seekers and companies.

Online classifieds platform Quikr, has acquired Stepni, a platform that connects vehicle owners with service providers nearest to them. Under the terms of the acquisition Stepni’s founders and team will join QuikrCars with immediate effect and the platform will be integrated with QuikrCars. The acquisition is aimed at strengthening Quikr’s service offerings under QuikrCars, its vertical that focuses on all types of automobiles including cars, bikes and commercial vehicles.
